The Next is dedicated to giving young athletes, coaches, and operations staff the opportunity to show who they are off the field, court, and ice; what drives them; and what inspires them.

We tend to look at athletes and coaches as fantasy players and targets of frustration, only defined by their profession. We get upset when they don’t choose to sign with the college we root for or don’t trade for a player we want and those who directly made that decision become the subjects of our ire.  Yet despite the fame and fortune, they’re humans, with families, friends, and stories just like everyone else. They are the future of their respective sports, but that is only part of their journey and when their careers are over, those stories will still be there…and here…at the Next
